Description

The Knightsbridge OS001B is a wall or ceiling-mounted PIR motion sensor with a 200° detection field covering up to 12m radius when fitted at 2.4m height. The sensor housing is IP55-rated against dust ingress and water jets, making it suitable for covered outdoor installations such as porches, carports and garage entrances as well as indoor use.

The sensor head tilts and rotates on an adjustable ball joint, allowing the detection field to be aimed precisely at walkways, doorways or driveways rather than fixed overhead. The mounting plate wires directly to mains supply then the sensor unit clips onto the plate without needing to open the housing again, simplifying installation and future maintenance. Multiple sensors can be wired in parallel to control the same lighting circuit from different detection zones.

The polycarbonate and ABS housing measures 82mm high by 72mm wide with a 133mm projection from the wall once mounted. Adjustable lux threshold lets the sensor operate only in low-light conditions or override to run 24 hours, and the timer adjusts from 3 seconds to 30 minutes hold time after motion stops. Switching capacity handles up to 2000W incandescent or 225W LED load, equivalent to around twenty 10W LED bulbs on a single sensor.

Can this be used outdoors?

Yes. The IP55 rating protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making the sensor suitable for covered outdoor positions such as porches, eaves-mounted soffit installations, carports and garage entrances. It is not rated for full weather exposure without overhead cover.

What is the maximum LED load it can switch?

The sensor switches up to 225W of LED lighting or 2000W incandescent. At typical 10W per LED bulb that equates to around twenty LED bulbs on a single sensor circuit.

How is the detection field adjusted?

The sensor head sits on an adjustable ball joint and can be tilted and rotated to aim the 200° detection field at walkways, driveways or doorways rather than being fixed in one position. The mounting plate fixes to the wall or ceiling and the sensor clips onto it after wiring.

Can multiple sensors control the same light?

Yes. Multiple OS001B sensors can be wired in parallel to trigger the same lighting circuit from different detection zones, useful for long driveways or L-shaped paths where a single sensor cannot cover the full area.
