The Hilow Line Alps Green is a linear floor lamp: one slim rod of light, 2.3cm across, rising from a green veined cylindrical base to a full height of 207cm. The rod has a Brushed Champagne finish, a soft gold tone, and the base is 12cm across and 30cm tall, so the lamp takes up very little floor. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It draws 39W and gives 2714lm, with a CRI of 90, which keeps the colours of wood, fabric and paintwork looking true.

We see it in a living room, standing in a corner, beside a sofa or next to a bookcase, where a tall line of light gives the room height without taking space from it. It comes in two versions, 2700K or 3000K: the 2700K version gives a warmer, cosier light for evenings, and the 3000K version is a touch crisper and whiter, which some prefer for reading. Whichever you choose, it dims with the dimmer on its cable, so you can bring it down low for a film or up for company. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The Brushed Champagne rod sits upright in the centre of its cylindrical base, which gives the lamp its footing and holds the slim line upright. The lamp plugs in, so there is no wiring to arrange, and it runs on 230V. It is Class II, which means it is double insulated. Because the base is only 12cm across, it fits a narrow gap between furniture that a shaded floor lamp could never take. Before you order, check the height under any sloping ceiling or low beam, since it stands 207cm tall from floor to tip. It has a plug on its cable, and we include a UK adaptor in the box, so it is ready for a UK socket.
