The Hilow is a large LED wall light made as an open grid of slim rods in a Brushed Bronze finish, crossing one another like a lattice, with a black diffuser frame running almost the full width through the middle. The light comes from that black bar, and the light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. Its CRI of 90 keeps wood, fabric and skin tones looking true. It is 113cm wide, 82cm tall and 13cm deep, and comes in 3000K or 2700K, so you can pick a warmer or a slightly crisper white. Depending on the version, it draws 71W or 77W and gives 3812 or 4088 lumens.

With its size and open lattice, the Hilow suits a long wall in a living room, the wall above a sideboard in a dining room, or the space over a bed in a bedroom, where it looks like a piece of wall art even when it is switched off. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It comes in two versions. The DALI or push dimmable version is the one to choose if you want to dim it, either through a DALI control system or by push dimming. The second version, 24V DC, remote driver not included, needs a remote 24V DC driver, sold separately, which turns the mains supply into the power the light runs on; it will not work without one.

We find the Brushed Bronze finish has a soft, low sheen that sits warmly against plaster, stone or painted walls, and the slim rods keep the fitting light in look for all its width. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician.
