Description

The Hilow is an integrated LED ceiling light built as an open frame of slim matt black bars: three long bars run side by side, crossed by three shorter ones, all held close to the ceiling. It is a black diffuser frame with the light built into it, and because the LED is integrated there is no bulb to buy or change. It is a generous fitting, 113cm wide and 82cm high, and gives 2356lm or 2651lm depending on the version, from 72W or 78W of LED power. A CRI of 90 means colours, wood and fabrics look true beneath it.

Its size and open pattern suit a large room: a living room, a dining room over a long table, an open-plan space or a broad hallway. We think it works best where there is space around it for the crossing lines to be seen. It comes in two colour temperatures: 2700K for a warmer, softer light in the evening, or 3000K for a slightly crisper warm white, so you can match it to the other lights in the room. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

It comes in two versions. The dimmable version dims through DALI control or push dimming, so it can join a DALI lighting system or be dimmed from a push switch. The 24V DC version needs a remote 24V DC driver, sold separately, which supplies the 24V DC the fitting runs on; it will not light without one. The matt black finish runs across every bar. It runs on mains power and is wired in by an electrician, so it is a job for a qualified electrician to install. When you order, pick your colour temperature and version, and if you choose the 24V DC version, order the driver at the same time.
