Description

This Knightsbridge grid switch cover is pre-printed with 'FAN BOOST' in white lettering on an anthracite ABS and steel rocker. The cover clips directly onto a standard Knightsbridge grid rocker switch, replacing the blank rocker to label the circuit it controls. Measuring 33mm x 16mm with a 6.8mm projection, the cover fits all grid switch modules in the Knightsbridge range.

Designed for bathroom extractor fans with boost functions, the cover allows installers and building managers to label the switch that controls the high-speed boost setting separately from the standard run mode. The clip-on design means the cover can be fitted or changed without rewiring or removing the switch from the back box, making it practical for retrofit labelling in rental properties, care homes, hotels and residential bathrooms.

The anthracite finish provides contrast against white or light-coloured grid plates, making the 'FAN BOOST' label readable at a glance. The ABS construction with steel backing gives the rocker enough rigidity to withstand repeated switching without flexing or cracking. The IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations; for wet areas like shower enclosures or immediately adjacent to baths, check the IP rating of the complete switch assembly.

Is this compatible with all grid switches?

The cover fits all Knightsbridge grid rocker modules. It clips onto the existing rocker mechanism and does not require any wiring changes or removal of the switch from the back box.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

Yes, with caveats. The IP20 rating suits dry bathroom locations away from direct water spray. For switches in zones 1 or 2 (within 60cm of a shower head or bath edge), the complete grid switch assembly must carry a higher IP rating such as IP44 or IP65.
