Description

The Knightsbridge Grid flex outlet module provides a cable exit point for appliance flexes up to 10mm diameter, fitted with a replaceable 13A fuse for appliance protection circuits. The module measures 56.3mm high by 24.8mm wide (one-module width in the Grid system) and clips into Knightsbridge Grid mounting frames from the front without tools.

Designed for kitchen worktop installations where appliances like kettles, toasters and food processors need a fused outlet, the module sits flush within a Grid frame (sold separately) alongside switches, sockets and other Grid modules. The 10mm cable aperture accommodates standard UK appliance flexes, and the anthracite finish coordinates with black and dark grey kitchen schemes or provides contrast against lighter finishes.

The module body is moulded from ABS plastic with steel internal components, and the 13A fuse can be replaced without removing the module from the frame. The 35mm minimum back box depth requirement is standard for Grid installations, and the IP20 rating suits dry indoor locations. The module carries a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked

What is the Grid system?

Knightsbridge Grid is a modular wiring system where individual modules (switches, sockets, flex outlets) clip into separate mounting frames. This allows multiple functions to be combined in a single faceplate, common in kitchens and utility rooms where appliance control, power outlets and flex outlets need to sit together.

Can the fuse be replaced?

Yes. The module includes a replaceable 13A fuse that can be accessed and changed without removing the module from the mounting frame. This allows fuse replacement without rewiring.

What cable diameter does it accept?

The module accepts appliance flexes up to 10mm diameter. Most standard UK appliance flexes (kettles, toasters, microwaves) fall within this range.

What mounting frame is required?

This is a one-module-width component. It requires a Knightsbridge Grid mounting frame (sold separately) — either a single-module frame or a multi-module frame if combining with other Grid components. The frame fixes to a 35mm minimum back box depth.
