Description
The Flame is a dual-direction outdoor wall light with a grey powder-coated metal cylinder housing two GU10 bulb fittings (sold separately). One bulb casts light downwards onto the ground, the other upwards onto the wall or fascia above, creating a vertical wash of light on both sides of the fitting. The ribbed cylindrical body projects 180mm from the wall on a rectangular mounting bracket.
Designed for external walls around doorways, garages, side passages and patios, the Flame provides both functional path lighting and accent lighting on the vertical surface behind it. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for open-sided porches, garden walls and external garage walls where the fitting is not exposed to direct sustained rain from above. The fixture requires two GU10 bulbs — typically a pair of 5-7W LED GU10s in 2700K-3000K for outdoor residential use, or 4000K cool white for security lighting.
The grey powder coat is a neutral mid-tone that sits between charcoal and pale grey, allowing the fitting to blend with rendered, painted or natural stone walls without standing out as a feature in daylight. The ribbed vertical detail on the cylinder adds texture and conceals the internal reflector structure. The 65mm diameter cylinder and 180mm projection give the fitting enough physical presence to be visible from a distance when lit, while remaining compact enough for smaller domestic elevations. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific GU10 LED bulbs chosen — confirm with the bulb manufacturer before pairing with a dimmer switch.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean and where can this be installed?
IP44 protects against solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction. The Flame is suitable for covered porches, open-sided garden structures, garage walls and external walls under eaves where the fitting is not directly exposed to sustained rain from above. It is not rated for fully exposed locations with direct overhead weather exposure.
What bulbs does it require?
Two GU10 bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 5-7W LED GU10s in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient outdoor lighting, or 4000K cool white for security and task lighting. Maximum wattage depends on the fitting's internal heat rating — see the Specification tab or contact us for confirmation.
Is it dimmable?
The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible when connected to a trailing-edge dimmer switch. Whether it actually dims smoothly depends on the specific GU10 LED bulbs you choose — check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchasing.
How is it wired and mounted?
The Flame requires mains wiring from an outdoor-rated junction box or through-wall cable run. The rectangular mounting bracket fixes to the wall with two screws, then the cable connects to a terminal block inside the bracket before the cylindrical body clips or screws into place. Installation should be completed by a qualified electrician to ensure weatherproofing and electrical safety.
