Description

The Cornet B/27 is a low LED bollard light with a tapered cone body and two wavy layers stacked above it, so the light slips out softly through the gaps between each curve. It stands 27cm tall and 25.6cm across at its widest point, narrowing to a base 13.2cm in diameter. The finish is Stone Grey, a quiet matt grey with a fine texture, and the inside of each layer is white, which helps spread the glow. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It draws 8W and gives 39 lumens of warm 2700K light, with a CRI of 90, so planting, timber and stone keep their true colours after dark.

This is a fitting made for the garden. It is rated IP66, which means it is sealed against dust and protected against powerful jets of water, so it can stay outdoors through every season. Its light is gentle rather than bright, which suits marking the line of a garden path, the edge of a deck or the corner of a terrace, where a row of them guides the way without flooding the space. It is TRIAC dimmable with a compatible dimmer, so you can take the glow lower still on a quiet evening.

The body is polyurethane, with 316 stainless steel and aluminium in its construction, and the Stone Grey finish sits quietly among gravel, stone and planting. The Cornet was designed by Alex Fernández Camps. It runs on 230V mains power and is a Class I fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, so it is worth planning in while other work in the garden is under way. Once it is in, there is nothing more to add, because the LED is built in.
