Description
The Catenis Small is an 800mm wall light built around a cylindrical shade of natural Spanish alabaster, held within a slim matt black metal loop frame. Two G9 lamp sockets sit inside the alabaster cylinder, casting light through the stone so the shade itself becomes the diffuser. The frame extends above and below the shade in a continuous looped silhouette, projecting 80mm from the wall on a 150mm-wide footprint.
Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedrooms and lounges where vertical wall space outweighs horizontal, the Catenis suits walls of 1m width or more thanks to its tall, narrow proportions. The 80mm projection keeps the fitting close to the wall, making it suitable for circulation areas where a deeper sconce would intrude. All fixings are concealed within the frame, and the wall plate sits behind the lower loop for a clean line from any angle.
The alabaster cylinder is cut from natural Spanish stone, so each piece carries different mineral veining and tonal variation that becomes more visible once the G9 lamps are switched on. The matt black frame contrasts cleanly against the soft white alabaster, framing the stone without competing with it. The graphic loop above the shade and the larger loop running below give the fitting a vertical rhythm that reads as sculptural rather than ornamental, suiting modern, contemporary and pared-back interiors.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Catenis Small take?
The fitting takes two G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white G9 LED capsules between 2.5W and 4W at 2700K-3000K, which produces a soft glow through the alabaster without overheating the stone.
How wide a wall does it suit?
The Catenis Small is 150mm wide and 800mm tall, with an 80mm projection. The tall, narrow proportions suit walls of 1m or more in width, and work particularly well flanking a doorway, on either side of a bed, or running up a stairwell where vertical space is the priority.
Does each alabaster piece look the same?
No. Each cylinder is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, clouding and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone and becomes most visible when the lamp is switched on.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone with water.
