Description

The Carl Adjustable is a recessed LED downlight with a head you can angle, so the light lands where you want it rather than only straight down. It has a Brushed Brass finish, with a compact cylindrical head on a short stem beneath a round trim. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change: 18W giving 1436 lumens, with a CRI of 90, so colours, food and fabrics look true. The 30° beam is focused, made for picking out a spot rather than flooding a whole room. It comes in 2700K or 3000K: 2700K is the warmer white of the two, 3000K a little crisper. It is 9.5cm tall and 5.3cm in diameter.

Small and easy to aim, it is one we would choose for a kitchen, where a few can be pointed at a worktop, an island or open shelving, and it works just as well angled at a display, a shelf of books or a clothes rail in a shop. The narrow beam and the Brushed Brass finish make it a good choice wherever you want the light to pick out what matters while the fitting stays discreet in the ceiling. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is an indoor fitting.

For planning, it needs a 5.5cm cut-out in the ceiling and 6cm of recess depth. It runs from the mains and must be wired in by a qualified electrician; its protection class is Class III. It dims by DALI or push dimming, so it can sit on a DALI system or a push control with a compatible dimmer. Choose 2700K or 3000K when you order, and keep the same one across a room so every downlight gives a matching white.
