Description

The Carl Adjustable is a small recessed LED downlight in the Carl range, with a cylindrical head on a short stem that sits just beneath a round ceiling trim. The head is adjustable, so you can aim the light where you want it rather than only straight down. It comes in a Brushed Bronze finish and runs on an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 425 lumens from 6.5W through a 34° beam, a fairly focused spread that picks out a surface rather than flooding a room, and a CRI of 90 keeps colours looking true. It comes in two colour temperatures, 2700K or 3000K: the warmer 2700K or the slightly crisper 3000K. It is 3.6cm across and 7.1cm tall.

With a focused beam and a head you can angle, it suits picking out a display, a clothes rail, a run of shelving or a stretch of wall, in a shop or showroom as much as at home. In a kitchen, a row of them over an island or along open shelves puts light where you prepare food and keep things. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It is not dimmable, so it is not for use on a dimmer circuit; plan it for simple on and off switching.

The Brushed Bronze finish has a fine brushed grain and a warm metallic tone, and the LED sits back inside a dark inner face, which keeps the source out of direct view when you look up. The round trim covers the opening in the ceiling, leaving only the stem and head in view. It is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, who will need a ceiling cut-out of 4.2cm and 5cm of recess depth for each one. Check the depth of your ceiling void before you order.
