Description

The Carl Adjustable is a small recessed LED downlight: a round trim plate sits against the ceiling, and a cylindrical head on a short stem angles the light where you want it. It is 3.6cm in diameter and 7.1cm tall, finished in Black with a fine matt texture. Its integrated LED draws 6.5W and gives 425 lumens through a 34° beam, so there is no bulb to buy or change. With a CRI of 90, it keeps food, fabrics and paint colours looking true. We sell it in 2700K or 3000K: choose the 2700K version for a warmer glow, or the 3000K version for a slightly crisper white.

It suits a kitchen well. A line of them over a worktop or island puts focused light exactly where you prepare food, and because the head adjusts, you can aim each one at the surface you are working on rather than straight down. The 34° beam is narrow enough to pick out an open shelf, a picture or a run of cabinets without washing light across the whole room, so it works as accent lighting as much as task lighting. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is an indoor fitting.

As a recessed fitting it needs a cut-out of 4.2cm in the ceiling and a recess depth of 5cm, so check the space above the ceiling before you plan your layout. It runs on mains power and is wired in by a qualified electrician. It is not dimmable, so it belongs on an ordinary switch rather than a dimmer. The Black finish reads as quiet and plain against a pale ceiling, and the slim trim plate keeps each opening tidy. It is a neat, practical choice wherever you want light aimed precisely rather than spread wide.
