Description
The Bug Halo is a small recessed downlight that sits up inside the ceiling, so the light comes from a deep, round reflector rather than a fitting hanging below. The reflector carries a Brushed Brass finish, which gives the opening a warm, golden look. It measures 7.5cm across and 4cm high. You can choose its light source: a lampholder version, which takes a bulb that is not included, or one of four integrated LED versions, in 2700K or 3000K, each with a 24° or 36° beam. The integrated LED versions need no bulb, draw 5W and give 700 lumens, with a CRI of 90, so food, wood and fabrics keep their true colours.
In a kitchen, a row of these over a worktop or an island puts light where you chop and cook, and the high CRI shows ingredients as they are. The 24° beam is the narrower choice, for picking out a shelf, a picture or a single spot on a counter; the 36° beam spreads a little wider for more general light. Choose 2700K for a warmer, cosier light, or 3000K for a slightly crisper white that still feels warm. Because each fitting is so compact, several can sit close together without crowding the ceiling, and the Brushed Brass finish inside each one adds a quiet detail when you look up.
The Bug Halo runs on 230V mains power and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. When you order, pick an integrated LED version, with the light built in, or the lampholder version if you would rather fit your own bulb. Either way, the Brushed Brass finish lines the reflector, so the warm golden tone is what you see from below. With the LED versions, decide on colour temperature and beam before ordering, and choose the same version for every downlight in a room so the light matches.

Frequently Asked
Does the Bug Halo downlight need a bulb?
The integrated LED versions need no bulb: the light is built in, drawing 5W and giving 700 lumens. The lampholder version takes a bulb, which is not included.
What size is the Bug Halo downlight?
It is 7.5cm across and 4cm high, a compact downlight that sits recessed in the ceiling with its round reflector facing down into the room.
Which colour temperature and beam angle should I choose?
The integrated LED versions come in 2700K or 3000K, each with a 24° or 36° beam. 2700K is the warmer light, and the 24° beam is narrower than the 36° beam.
How is the Bug Halo installed?
It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, as part of your ceiling lighting.
How true do colours look under the Bug Halo?
The integrated LED versions have a CRI of 90, so food, wood and fabrics look natural, which suits a kitchen especially well.
How long will it take to arrive?
It is made to order for you, so it is usually delivered in 4 to 8 weeks.
