Description
The Bug Halo is a compact recessed downlight in black, 7.5cm across and 4cm high, with its light source set well back inside a deep, round reflector. It comes in five versions. Four have an integrated LED, so they need no bulb: 2700K with a 24° beam, 2700K with a 36° beam, 3000K with a 24° beam and 3000K with a 36° beam. Each of these draws 5W and gives 700lm, with a CRI of 90, so colours look true under it. The fifth is a lampholder version, and its bulb is not included.
Choose by the beam. The 24° versions throw a tighter pool of light, good for picking out a picture, a shelf or one corner of a room; the 36° versions spread a little wider, so a run of them lights a kitchen more evenly from the ceiling. Because each fitting is so small, several can sit in a ceiling without cluttering it, and the black finish gives a crisp, graphic look against a pale ceiling or blends into a dark one. The 2700K versions give a warm, relaxed light that suits evenings, while the 3000K versions give a slightly cleaner white that many people prefer for cooking and everyday tasks.
Every version runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician, and it is a Class II fitting. The reflector is deep, so the source sits back from the ceiling line. One practical note before you order: settle the colour temperature and beam for each room first, because each is a separate version rather than a setting you can change later, and if you choose the lampholder version, have a bulb ready, as one is not included.

Frequently Asked
Does the Bug Halo downlight need a bulb?
The four integrated LED versions need no bulb, because the LED is built in. The lampholder version takes a bulb, and that bulb is not included.
Which colour temperatures and beam angles can I choose?
The integrated LED versions come in 2700K or 3000K, each with a 24° or a 36° beam. 2700K is the warmer light and 3000K is a little whiter.
How bright is the integrated LED version?
Each integrated LED version draws 5W and gives 700lm, with a CRI of 90, so colours look natural under its light.
How big is the Bug Halo downlight?
It is 7.5cm across and 4cm high, a compact size that sits neatly in a ceiling, on its own or in a run with others.
How is the Bug Halo installed?
It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician. It is a Class II fitting.
How long will it take to arrive?
It is made to order for you, so it is usually delivered in 4 to 8 weeks.
