Description

The Bol A/01 is a dome wall light with a rounded shade 17cm across and 10cm tall, set on a slim stem that meets a straight arm and a round wall rose 12cm across. The whole fitting is 27cm tall and stands 26cm out from the wall. Its light comes from an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change: 8.4W gives 349 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so colours and skin tones look natural. Light glows through a round diffuser in the top of the shade and falls from its open underside, lighting the wall above and below. We offer it in seven finishes: Textured White, Ebony Black, Textured Pebble Grey, Textured Olive Grey, Textured Terracotta, Textured Grey Blue and Textured Sand Yellow.

This wall light sits naturally beside a bed, where a pair either side of the headboard gives soft light for reading while keeping the bedside table clear. It suits a living room just as well, either side of a sofa or a fireplace, and a dining room, where a few along one wall add a gentle glow around the table. It is dimmable with a compatible TRIAC dimmer, so you can turn it right down in the evening. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

It is made from aluminium, brass and polycarbonate, and the design is by Estudi Manel Molina, who kept the lines simple: a dome shade on a stem, held out on a straight arm. It runs on 230V mains and is a Class I fitting, which means it connects to the earth in your home's wiring. It is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, so we suggest settling its height beside the bed or sofa with them before the wall is decorated. Our photographs show the ebony black version.
