Description
The Armada is a caged outdoor wall lantern made of solid brass with a satin nickel finish, a soft silvery grey that sits comfortably against white render, pale stone or painted brick. A clear ribbed glass dome rises from a broad flanged collar inside a protective cage, and a rounded bowl closes the base, so the light goes upwards through the glass and the ribbing softens it. It is a compact lantern, 21cm tall and 15cm wide, standing 18cm from the wall. The IP64 rating settles the outdoor question: the lantern is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, so it lives outside in British weather through every season.
The maker suggests it for a porch or a walkway, and it works as well beside a front door, on a garden wall or on the side of a boathouse. The maker designed the range's wall lanterns for outdoor places that call for an industrial or nautical effect, and the caged ribbed glass gives that. Indoors, the maker says it adds character to traditional spaces such as a pub or an inn, and with its IP64 rating we would happily suggest it for a bathroom too; a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. It suits a coastal cottage, a Victorian terrace or a converted warehouse, and the maker says the maritime influence shows in the range's materials, designs and names.
Beneath the satin nickel, the body is solid brass, and brass contains no iron, so it does not rust. A short bracket at the back holds the lantern off the wall, and the cable enters at the rear, where the maker notes the wall mount hides the connection, keeping the wall face clean. It takes a single E27 lamp, the standard large Edison screw, which makes a replacement easy to buy. Like any mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Frequently Asked
Can the Armada lantern go outside all year?
Yes. It is rated IP64, which means it is dust-tight and protected from splashing water, so it can live outdoors in British weather through every season.
What bulb does the Armada wall lantern take?
It takes a single E27 lamp, also known as ES or large Edison screw, one of the most common bulb caps in the UK.
How big is this wall lantern?
It is 21cm tall and 15cm wide, and it stands 18cm from the wall, a compact size that suits a porch or a front door.
Can I use it in a bathroom?

Is it solid brass under the satin nickel finish?
