Description

The Arid A/03 is a slim LED wall light in Textured Black, made from aluminium and stainless steel. A narrow, ribbed back plate sits flat against the wall, and a single tubular arm runs across it at an angle, with the light coming from the end of the arm. It is compact: 20cm tall, and it stands just 5.5cm out from the wall. The light source is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It draws 2.1W and gives 360 lumens of warm white light at 2700K, with a CRI of 90, so colours, faces and print look true and natural.

We think it suits a bedroom best, fixed beside the bed where a small, directed light is more useful than a lamp on a crowded bedside table. It works just as well in a living room, next to a reading chair or a sofa. In a dining room, a pair either side of a sideboard gives a soft glow at eye level without taking up any surface. Because it stands out so little, it sits comfortably in narrow spaces where a deeper fitting would be in the way. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The design is by Nahtrang Studio. The ribbed back plate gives the fitting a fine texture against a plain wall, and the smooth round arm crosses it as a clean contrast. The aluminium and stainless steel body carries a Textured Black finish, a matt black with a slight grain that sits well on pale and dark walls alike. It is a Class I fitting that runs on 230V mains power. It is wired in to the mains, so a qualified electrician should install it, and once it is in place there is never a bulb to change.
