Description

The Arcus is a 1m aluminium LED corner profile measuring 16x16mm, designed for surface-mounting LED strip lighting in 90-degree internal corners. The profile holds the LED strip along one internal face while the white powder-coated finish blends into painted walls and ceilings, allowing the light output to define the corner rather than the fitting itself.

Designed for residential and commercial installation, the Arcus suits kitchen plinths, under-cabinet corners, ceiling coves, staircase nosings, and vertical wall corners where continuous linear light is needed. The 1m length can be cut to size on-site with a hacksaw and joined end-to-end using aluminium track joiners (sold separately) to form longer runs. The surface-mount design fixes directly to the corner with screws or adhesive tape depending on substrate and load.

The aluminium extrusion acts as a heat sink, drawing warmth away from the LED strip and extending its operational lifespan compared to strip-only installations. The 16x16mm profile accepts LED strips up to 12mm wide, with the angled internal faces creating a 90-degree cradle that holds the strip securely once the diffuser is clipped in place. The white finish is a powder coat applied over the raw aluminium, giving a uniform matte surface that resists fingerprints and minor scuffs better than painted finishes.

What width LED strip does it take?

The internal cradle accepts LED strips up to 12mm wide. Most standard 12V and 24V LED strips in the 8-10mm width range fit comfortably within the profile with room for the diffuser clip.

Does it come with a diffuser?

The Arcus profile is sold as the aluminium extrusion only. Diffusers, end caps and mounting clips are typically sold separately depending on the specific Ideal Lux accessory range. Check the related products or contact us to confirm what's included with this SKU.

Can it be cut to length?

Yes. The 1m length can be cut to size using a hacksaw or mitre saw with a fine-tooth blade. Deburr the cut edge before fitting the LED strip to avoid damaging the adhesive backing.

How is it mounted?

The profile surface-mounts into the corner using screws through pre-drilled holes in the base, or with heavy-duty double-sided tape depending on the substrate and whether the installation is permanent or temporary. Screws provide the most secure fixing for commercial installations.
