Description

The App wall light is a single white aluminium panel, shaped so that it curves out from the wall in one soft bend and finishes in a clean straight edge. Behind that fold sits an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and the light washes up and across the wall around it rather than shining into your eyes. It gives 2862 lumens from 36W, a generous output for a wall light, with a CRI of 90, so skin tones, timber and fabrics look true. It measures 20cm tall and 24cm wide, and it comes in two colour temperatures, 2700K or 3000K, so you choose the warmth that suits the room.

We would put it in a living room, a dining room or a bedroom, where a wash of light on the wall gives a calmer evening glow than a ceiling light alone. A pair either side of a bed or a sofa works well, and one above a sideboard lifts a dining room without glare. The 2700K version gives a warmer, cosier light for relaxing; the 3000K version is a touch crisper and sits well where you read or work. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only, and it is not dimmable, so it simply switches on and off.

The white finish sits quietly against a pale wall, so the fitting reads as part of the architecture, and the curved aluminium panel hides the light source from the front. Because the LED is built in, there are no bulbs to keep in stock. It runs on 230V mains and is wired in by a qualified electrician, so it is worth deciding where it will go before you redecorate, leaving room above for the light to spread up the wall.
