Description

The Aperta video door entry kit combines a surface-mount outdoor camera panel with a 7" colour TFT hands-free monitor, connected via two-core cable. The outdoor station carries a camera lens above a perforated speaker grille and a call button, finished in brushed stainless steel with a black plastic surround rated IP55 for outdoor weatherproofing.

Designed for residential front doors, the kit suits single-family homes where the monitor is mounted inside near the entry point and the outdoor station is fixed to brickwork or a door frame beside the door. The two-core cable run keeps installation simpler than mains-voltage systems, and the included 24V power supply supports up to five devices in a multi-monitor or multi-entrance configuration if the system is expanded later.

The 7" monitor displays a clear colour feed from the outdoor camera when the call button is pressed or when manually activated from the touchscreen controls. The monitor includes a recording function that captures stills or short clips of visitors, stored to internal memory. The hands-free design means calls can be answered and conversations held without lifting a handset, and the door release button on the monitor can trigger an electric strike or magnetic lock if one is fitted to the door.

What cable is needed between the monitor and outdoor station?

The system uses two-core cable, typically 0.5mm² to 0.75mm² bell wire or alarm cable. The maximum recommended cable run is 50m, though shorter runs give better image quality.

Can the monitor control a door lock?

Yes. The monitor has a door release output that can trigger an electric strike or magnetic lock rated for 24V operation. The lock is not included and must be purchased and wired separately.

Is the outdoor station weatherproof?

The outdoor panel is rated IP55, meaning it's protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. It can be surface-mounted to external brickwork or a door frame in a position with some overhead shelter from direct rainfall.

Can additional monitors be added?

Yes. The included power supply supports up to five devices in total (monitors and outdoor stations combined). Additional Aperta monitors and outdoor stations are sold separately and connect to the same two-core cable run.
