Description

The Aperta Trades Entry Button is a surface-mount stainless steel push button designed for access control in multi-tenant residential and commercial buildings. The button carries IP66 ingress protection, making it suitable for outdoor installation in weathered locations such as gate posts, building entrances and service yards. The engraved 'TRADES' legend is permanent and remains legible after years of outdoor exposure.

Fitted to entrance panels, gate systems and intercom installations, the button provides a dedicated access point for delivery drivers, tradespeople and service contractors without requiring them to use individual tenant call buttons. The normally open and normally closed contacts allow the button to integrate with electric strikes, magnetic locks and timer-controlled gate release systems. A timer module is required separately to control timed release duration and is not included with the button.

The 88 x 88mm single-gang fascia mounts onto an included surface box that projects 43mm from the mounting surface. Security screws are supplied to prevent tampering or removal without specialist tools. The stainless steel faceplate resists corrosion in coastal, industrial and high-pollution environments, maintaining a clean brushed finish without requiring regular maintenance or refinishing.

What is the IP66 rating for?

IP66 provides complete dust-tightness and protection against heavy seas or powerful water jets from any direction. The Aperta button can be installed outdoors on exposed gate posts, entrance panels or perimeter walls without requiring additional weather shielding.

Does the button include a timer?

No. The button provides normally open and normally closed contacts, but a separate timer module is required to control the duration of gate or door release. The timer module connects to the button contacts and controls the connected lock or strike.

What are the security screws for?

The supplied security screws use a non-standard drive pattern that prevents casual removal with standard screwdrivers. This deters tampering and theft in publicly accessible locations.

Can the engraved text be customised?

No. The Aperta Trades Entry Button comes with the permanent 'TRADES' legend engraved into the stainless steel faceplate. ESP also produces variants with different legends for specific applications.
