Description

The Aperta single-way video door station is a surface-mount outdoor panel with an integrated high-resolution colour camera, built-in speaker grille and illuminated call button. The IP55-rated housing protects the camera and electronics from rain, dust and impact in exposed outdoor locations, making it suitable for installation next to front doors, security gates and residential entrance points.

Designed for residential and light commercial video door entry systems, the station connects to compatible indoor monitors via a simple 2-core cable run, carrying both power and signal. The camera lens sits behind a protective glass dome at the top of the panel, providing a wide-angle view of visitors standing at the door. The perforated speaker grille below the camera allows two-way audio communication between the visitor and the indoor monitor.

The brushed aluminium faceplate measures 170mm x 90mm with a 70mm depth when surface-mounted, giving a compact footprint that fits comfortably next to standard residential door frames. The black plastic surround provides impact resistance and weather sealing around the metal faceplate. The call button sits below the speaker grille and illuminates when pressed, providing visual confirmation to the visitor that the call is being transmitted.

Operating on 24V DC power supplied from the indoor monitor or a separate power supply, the station is compatible with Aperta video door entry systems and other systems using the same wiring protocol. The camera captures colour video in daylight conditions, with the lens designed to handle the varying light levels typical of outdoor entrance positions.

Frequently Asked

What does IP55 weatherproof rating mean?

IP55 means the station is protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for outdoor installation in exposed positions where it will face rain, but it should not be installed where it will be subjected to direct high-pressure hosing or submersion.

What cable is required for installation?

The station requires a 2-core cable run between the outdoor panel and the indoor monitor. The cable carries both power (24V DC) and signal. Refer to the product manual for the recommended cable gauge and maximum run length based on your installation distance.

Is the camera resolution suitable for facial recognition?

The high-resolution colour camera provides clear video for identifying visitors at the door in daylight conditions. The exact resolution and low-light performance depend on the paired indoor monitor. Check the full system specification in the downloads section above.

Can this be used with existing door entry systems?

The Aperta door station is designed for use with Aperta video door entry systems. Compatibility with other brands depends on whether they use the same wiring protocol and voltage. Contact us before purchasing if you need to integrate this with a non-Aperta system.
