Description

The Adamas 23 is a table lamp built around a pink glass shade, 22.5cm across and 23cm tall, set on a slim stem rising from a round base. The upper half of the glass is cut with a pattern of hexagonal facets that catch and break up the light. The lower half is clear and smooth, so you can see the stem running through the middle. An integrated 11W LED gives 746 lumens of warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so colours look true and there is never a bulb to buy or change. Overall the lamp stands 44.8cm tall.

We see it most at home in a bedroom or a living room. At 44.8cm tall it suits a bedside table, a sideboard or a console. The base is only 10.4cm across and 7.9cm high, so it sits neatly on a narrow surface. It plugs in, so there is no wiring to arrange, and it is dimmable by push: turn it up for reading or down for a soft evening glow. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The frame comes in Matt Black or Brushed Brass, and each version pairs with the same pink glass shade. Matt Black gives the lamp a crisp, graphic outline against the glass. Brushed Brass brings a warmer tone that picks up the pink. Because the upper half is faceted and the lower half clear, the shade looks different lit and unlit: by day it reads as tinted glass, and at night the cut facets glow. It runs on 230V, and because the LED is integrated and the lamp plugs in, setting it up is simply a case of placing it and switching it on.
