Description
The Knightsbridge 8-gang grid faceplate is a Part M compliant anthracite plate designed for the Curved Edge Grid System, accommodating up to 8 individual grid modules in a 146mm square format. The anthracite thermoset resin finish carries a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of approximately 8.9, creating the high visual contrast required under current Building Regulations Part M when installed on lighter-coloured walls.
Designed for commercial, hospitality and accessible residential installations, the faceplate works with two CUG2F grid sub-frames (sold separately) that allow 8 individual Curved Edge grid modules to be configured as switches, sockets, dimmers or data outlets. The thermoset resin construction includes inherent anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011, making the plate suitable for healthcare, education and high-traffic public environments where surface hygiene matters.
The 7mm projection and IP20 rating suit standard internal dry-location installation. The plate measures 146mm square, fitting a standard double-gang back box footprint while supporting an 8-module configuration. The anthracite finish provides a dark neutral that contrasts with white, off-white and pale-toned walls while pairing with contemporary, industrial and minimalist interior schemes. Knightsbridge back the plate with a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What does Part M compliant mean for this faceplate?
Part M of the Building Regulations requires accessible design in dwellings and buildings. This faceplate has a low Light Reflectance Value (LRV) of 8.9, providing high visual contrast against lighter walls so switches are easier to identify for people with visual impairment. Part M recommends a minimum 30% LRV difference between the plate and the wall.
What grid modules does it support?
The plate accommodates 8 individual Curved Edge grid modules from Knightsbridge. You also need two CUG2F grid sub-frames (sold separately) to mount the modules behind the faceplate. The system allows flexible configuration of switches, sockets, dimmers and data outlets.
What are the anti-microbial properties?
The thermoset resin material includes inherent anti-microbial additives tested to ISO 22196:2011. This reduces bacterial growth on the surface, making the faceplate suitable for healthcare, education and other high-hygiene environments. The anti-microbial effect is built into the material rather than applied as a coating.
What back box is needed?
The 146mm square faceplate fits over a standard double-gang (47mm) back box. A minimum 25mm back box depth is recommended to accommodate the two CUG2F sub-frames and the wiring behind the grid modules.
