The Knightsbridge 8-gang grid faceplate is a 149.3mm square brushed chrome cover plate designed to house eight modular grid switches, sockets or other grid modules. Constructed from premium-grade steel with a brushed chrome finish, the faceplate provides a mounting surface for two 4-gang grid frames (GDF002F, sold separately) that hold the individual grid modules.

Designed for commercial and residential installations where multiple switching or socket functions need to be grouped in a single wall location, the grid system allows for flexible configuration of lighting switches, dimmer modules, socket outlets, data ports and other grid-compatible accessories. The 149.3mm square format fits a double-gang UK back box and the 10.5mm projection from the wall keeps the installation profile low.

The brushed chrome finish coordinates with Knightsbridge's Square Edge range, providing a consistent aesthetic across grid faceplates and standard switches and sockets in the same room. The steel construction gives the faceplate rigidity under repeated use, while the IP20 rating makes it suitable for dry indoor locations. The faceplate carries a 25-year warranty and is compatible only with Knightsbridge grid system components.

What grid frames does this faceplate require?

The 8-gang faceplate requires two GDF002F 4-gang grid frames (sold separately). These frames mount onto the back box and hold the individual grid modules, while the faceplate clips over the top to provide the finished surface.

What back box does it fit?

The 149.3mm square faceplate fits a standard UK double-gang 25mm or 35mm back box. Deeper back boxes are recommended when housing multiple grid modules with wiring behind them.

Is it compatible with other brands' grid systems?

No. This faceplate is designed for use with Knightsbridge grid system components only. The aperture spacing and frame mounting differ between manufacturers, so mixing brands will result in misalignment.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means this faceplate is suitable for dry indoor locations only. For bathroom installations outside zones 1 and 2, it can be used, but it should not be installed where direct water spray is possible.
