Description
The Knightsbridge 6-gang grid faceplate is a 146.5mm square polished chrome cover plate designed for modular grid installations, accepting up to six individual grid modules (switches, dimmers, sockets, data ports) behind a single faceplate. The plate features a rounded edge profile that softens the transition between wall and fitting, giving a less angular appearance than flat-edge alternatives.
This faceplate requires two GDF002F grid frames (sold separately) to hold the grid modules in position behind the plate. The modular grid system allows electricians and property owners to configure custom switch and socket combinations rather than being limited to fixed-configuration plates. Common uses include media walls (combining HDMI, ethernet and USB ports), kitchen islands (grouping switches for multiple lighting circuits), and commercial installations needing flexible control layouts.
The premium-grade steel construction provides rigidity at the 146.5mm span without flexing when modules are inserted or removed. The polished chrome finish matches Knightsbridge's Rounded Edge range, providing a high-gloss metallic surface that reflects ambient light. The 7.5mm projection from the wall is comparable to standard screwed faceplates. The plate carries an IP20 rating for dry interior use and a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What grid frames are needed?
This 6-gang faceplate requires two GDF002F grid frames (sold separately). Each GDF002F frame holds three grid modules, so two frames provide the full six-module capacity.
Can I mix different module types behind this plate?
Yes. The Knightsbridge grid system allows any combination of compatible grid modules including light switches, dimmers, sockets, USB ports, HDMI, ethernet and telephone modules. All modules must be Knightsbridge grid-compatible.
What back box depth is required?
Grid installations typically require a 35mm or 47mm back box depending on the modules fitted. Deeper modules (such as dimmer switches or USB sockets) may need the deeper box. Check the individual module specifications before installation.
Is this faceplate screwless?
No. This is a standard screw-fixed grid faceplate with visible fixing screws at the four corners. The screws are visible once installed, which is standard for modular grid systems.
