Description

The Knightsbridge 4-gang grid faceplate is a screwless anthracite cover plate designed to clip onto a separate grid sub-frame (GDS002F, sold separately). The plate measures 148mm wide by 88mm high with a 3.5mm projection from the wall once fitted, providing a low-profile finish with no visible screws or fixings on the face.

Designed for modular grid installations where switches, sockets, dimmers, data ports and other modules are assembled on a metal sub-frame before the cover plate is clipped over the top, this faceplate accommodates up to four standard-width grid modules in a single-row configuration. The screwless design means the anthracite plate can be removed for redecorating or module reconfiguration without disturbing the back box wiring.

The anthracite finish is a dark charcoal grey with a smooth low-sheen surface, darker than brushed graphite and lighter than matt black. The premium-grade steel construction provides rigidity to prevent flexing when modules are inserted or removed, and the plate sits flush against plasterwork when the sub-frame is correctly fitted to a standard 25mm back box.

What's required to complete a working installation?

You need one GDS002F grid sub-frame (sold separately), the grid modules themselves (switches, sockets, dimmers, data ports etc.), and a standard UK back box of at least 25mm depth. The sub-frame fixes to the back box, the modules clip into the sub-frame, and this faceplate clips over the assembly.

How many modules does this faceplate accommodate?

Four standard-width grid modules in a single horizontal row. Grid modules are typically sold as single-width, double-width or triple-width units, so check the module widths add up to four grid spaces before ordering.

Is the faceplate removable after installation?

Yes. The screwless plate clips onto the sub-frame and can be removed by hand without tools, allowing you to paint around the fitting or swap modules without re-wiring the back box.
