Description
This Knightsbridge 3-gang grid faceplate provides a brushed chrome finish for modular grid switching installations, measuring 147.5mm wide by 87.5mm high with a 3.5mm projection from the wall. The faceplate is cut from premium-grade steel and accepts three standard grid module apertures, allowing any combination of switches, sockets, dimmers or data modules to be configured behind a single coordinated plate.
Designed for use with Knightsbridge's Flat Plate grid system, the faceplate requires one GDF002F frame (sold separately) to hold the grid modules in place behind the front plate. The modular approach suits installations where switching requirements change over time, such as home offices, conference rooms, or kitchen worktops where media connectivity and power needs vary. The 3.5mm ultra-flat profile sits nearly flush with the wall surface, minimising projection and giving a cleaner finish than traditional raised plates.
The brushed chrome finish uses a directional grain that diffuses reflections and pairs with both contemporary and traditional interiors. The steel construction provides durability in high-use environments and maintains dimensional stability under temperature variation. The IP20 rating confirms the plate is suitable for dry indoor areas but not for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor locations.

Frequently Asked
What is a grid faceplate used for?
A grid faceplate allows modular grid switches, sockets, dimmers and data modules to be configured in any combination behind a single coordinated front plate. This is useful where switching requirements are complex or likely to change, such as in home offices, commercial installations or smart home setups.
What additional components are needed?
This faceplate requires one Knightsbridge GDF002F frame (sold separately) to hold the grid modules in position. The frame fixes to a standard back box and the modules clip into the frame before the faceplate is fitted over the top.
Is this compatible with standard UK back boxes?
Yes. The faceplate and frame system fits standard 25mm minimum depth UK back boxes. The 3-gang width requires a 3-gang back box or separate single-gang boxes positioned to align with the module apertures.
Can this be used in bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating confirms the faceplate is suitable for dry indoor areas only. For bathroom installations, a higher IP-rated product is required.
