Description
The Kichler Niva is a convertible fixture that mounts either as a wall light or pendant, using the same hardware for both applications. A champagne bronze dome shade sits over a satin opal glass globe that houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately), and the mounting system includes both a wall bracket and a pendant rod with adjustable drop from 296mm to 1058mm.
Used as a wall light, the Niva works above kitchen countertops, either side of a bathroom mirror, or as bedside lighting where a plug-in table lamp is impractical. The 241mm projection from the wall and 203mm shade width give enough presence for task lighting without dominating narrow hallways or small bedrooms. As a pendant, the fixture suits kitchen islands, breakfast bars, small dining tables and utility rooms, and can be installed in multiples on a shared circuit for run-of-three or run-of-five installations.
The champagne bronze finish sits between antique brass and brushed gold in tone, with a low-sheen surface that softens reflections under daylight. The satin opal glass globe diffuses light evenly in all directions rather than directing it downward, making the Niva better suited to ambient and accent lighting than focused task work. The dome shade measures 227mm in height and conceals the bulb completely when viewed from the side, so the fixture works in positions where the bulb would otherwise be visible at eye level.
The convertible mounting system uses the same back plate for both wall and pendant installation, so changing between formats requires only swapping the wall arm for the pendant rod. The pendant rod is height-adjustable in increments during installation by cutting the cable and chain to the required drop, then securing at the canopy. Maximum wattage is 40W, which accommodates most E27 LED bulbs between 4W and 10W for energy-efficient operation.

Frequently Asked
Can the Niva be converted between wall and pendant formats after installation?
Yes. The same back plate is used for both mounting types. Converting from wall to pendant (or vice versa) requires removing the fitting, swapping the wall arm for the pendant rod (or the reverse), and re-wiring. The conversion is straightforward but does require some rewiring work.
What bulb is recommended?
The Niva takes a standard E27 bulb up to 40W. Most users pair this with a 6-8W warm-white LED bulb at 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting. The opal glass diffuses light in all directions, so filament-style decorative bulbs are not necessary as the bulb is fully concealed by the shade.
How is the pendant drop adjusted?
The pendant rod and cable are supplied at the maximum 1058mm drop. During installation, the cable and chain are cut to the required length and secured at the ceiling canopy. Once installed, the drop cannot be adjusted without removing the fixture and re-cutting the cable.
What finish is the champagne bronze?
The champagne bronze is a warm metallic finish that sits between antique brass and brushed gold in tone, with a low-sheen surface. It pairs well with warm-toned interiors, brass hardware, and traditional or transitional schemes.
