Description

The Zoha is a counter stool with a mango wood frame and a padded seat and back in a cotton and jute kilim weave. The frame is four tapered legs with stretchers between them, set at two different heights on the sides so the lower pair works as a footrest. The seat is a deep box cushion with the weave pulled over its sides, and the back is a low padded panel carried on two uprights running up from the back legs. The weave is pale, with fine darker stripes running vertically through it.

The seat sits 69cm off the floor, which is counter height rather than bar height, so it suits a kitchen island or a worktop of about 90cm. The stool is 46cm wide and 55cm from front to back and stands 105cm to the top of the back, so the back shows above a counter when the stool is pushed under. The lower side stretchers take a foot. It holds up to 100kg.

The frame is mango wood, left rough sawn so the saw marks stay in the surface rather than being taken out, and the wood is picked for its grain. The seat and the back are upholstered by hand in a cotton and jute kilim weave. Zoha also runs to a dining chair in the same weave, and it was drawn up as an extension of the Aranya range.

Larger stains want a professional. Keep it out of direct sunlight, as natural dyes and yarns fade.
