Ziva 6 Light Glass Cluster Pendant Light - Green Smoke

The Ziva six light cluster in green smoke is six glass teardrops on one round brass ceiling plate, each on its own black fabric flex at a different length so the six spiral down. Every shade is blown wide at the base and drawn in to a narrow neck with a brass collar, and the surface is hammered rather than left smooth, so the glass is faceted and the tint reads unevenly across it. The flexes come at 65cm, 85cm, 105cm, 125cm, 145cm and 165cm, so the arrangement drops 192cm in all and spreads 45cm across.

The tint changes what six sources do. Where the clear version gives six bright points, the green smoke holds the light inside the glass, so each shade glows as a shape and the room below takes a softer, warmer green than the colour suggests unlit. That suits a dining space or a hallway with the ceiling height to carry it. It takes six E14 bulbs up to 40W each, it is suitable for use with a dimmer switch, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

The glass is recycled, mouth blown and then hammered with traditional tools, so the facets and the depth of the green differ across the six on one fitting. The cords can be adjusted by a qualified electrician, and at 5.7kg the ceiling fixing has to carry it. The Ziva range runs to six cluster pendants in clear, green smoke and light smoke brown, in this six light size and in a smaller three shade one. Bulbs are not included.

How many ceiling points does it need?

One. All six flexes run into a single round brass ceiling plate.

Why is the glass surface uneven?

Each shade is mouth blown and then hammered with traditional tools, which leaves the glass faceted. No two shades take the hammering the same way.

How is it different from the clear version?

The same six shades and the same six cord lengths. The clear gives six bright points; the green smoke holds the light in the glass, so each shade glows as a shape.

How do I clean it?

Switch it off and let the bulbs cool, then wipe each shade with a soft dry cloth in a circular motion. Keep harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners off the glass.
