Description

The Yuyun S/9L is a tall pendant light made of nine woven shades stacked on a slim central rod, each one a shallow, rounded tier of beige cotton thread. It is finished in Satin Beige & Beige Thread, over a frame of aluminium and steel. The integrated LED gives 2160 lumens from 64.8W at a warm 2400K, with a CRI of 90, so there is never a bulb to buy or change and wood, fabric and skin tones look natural under it. The pendant is 181cm tall and 42cm across, and it hangs on a drop of up to 200cm.

We see it in a dining room, hanging above a table or a sideboard, or in a living room, where its height draws the eye up a plain wall. At 181cm tall it needs a room with real headroom, so measure from ceiling to floor and allow for the drop before you decide where it hangs. The light glows through the open weave of each tier, warm and diffused, giving a room a soft evening mood rather than a hard light for close work. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

The pendant comes without its canopy, so you need a Yuyun power-supply canopy with its 24V driver, sold separately: it holds the pendant at the ceiling and houses the driver that turns the mains supply into the 24V DC the light runs on. Without it the pendant cannot be hung or lit. The fitting is wired in to the mains by an electrician through that driver, and it runs at 24V DC and is Protection Class III. The shades are woven from cotton thread over an aluminium and steel structure, and the rod and tiers share one soft beige tone. Order the canopy alongside the pendant, and have a qualified electrician install the two together.
