Description

The Yuyun S/7S/I is a fabric pendant light made of seven stacked tiers of beige cotton thread, each a softly rounded disc on a slim central rod. It is made of aluminium, steel and cotton, finished in Satin Beige & Beige Thread. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. It gives 1574lm from 50.4W at 2400K, a very warm, golden tone, and its CRI of 90 means wood, fabric and skin tones look true. The pendant is 101cm tall with a shade 26cm across, and it hangs at a drop of up to 200cm.

We think of it first for a dining room, hung over the table so the woven tiers glow at eye level. It also suits a living room, where a tall column of warm light softens a corner beside a sofa or reading chair. It plugs in, and its cord runs down to a foot dimmer, so you can turn the light up for dinner and down for a quiet evening with your foot rather than reaching for a switch. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The tiers are equal in size, giving the column a calm, regular rhythm from top to bottom. It runs on 230V and is a Class II fitting, so it needs no earth connection. Its cable lengths are 150cm and 400cm, and because the dimmer is built into the cord there is no wall dimmer to buy or fit. The cotton thread brings a soft, textured surface that reads as warm even when the light is off. One practical note: measure from your ceiling to the table or floor before you order. At 101cm tall and with a drop of up to 200cm, it is happiest in a room with a little height to spare.
