Description

The Yuyun S/13C is a tall pendant light built as a column of thirteen woven tiers, large and small in turn, stacked one above another and hung from a single cable. It is made of aluminium, steel and cotton, with cotton thread forming each tier, in a Satin Beige & Beige Thread finish, so the light glows softly through the weave. It is 216cm tall and 42cm across at its widest, and hangs on a drop of up to 200cm. The light source is integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change: 93.6W gives 3029lm at 2400K, a very warm white, and a CRI of 90 means wood, fabric and skin tones look true.

We see it in a dining room or a living room, where its height counts: it suits a room with a generous ceiling, hung over a dining table. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only. The pendant comes without its canopy, and to use it you need a Yuyun power-supply canopy with its 24V driver, sold separately. The canopy fixes to the ceiling, holds the driver that turns mains power into the 24V DC the pendant runs on, and feeds the pendant through its cable, so the light will not work without it.

Each of the thirteen tiers is a taut, open weave of cotton thread on its frame, and the Satin Beige & Beige Thread finish keeps the whole column in one soft, natural tone. It is a Class III fitting running at 24V DC. Power is mains, wired in by an electrician through the driver in the canopy, so plan the canopy and the pendant together before the work is booked. Once it is up there is no bulb to replace, and the 200cm maximum drop lets you set the height over a table or seating.
