The Yerevan is a flush ceiling light built around a single white glass globe, 30cm across, held in a metal gallery under a short fitter and a round ceiling plate. It sits close to the ceiling instead of hanging on a flex, and the whole light is 37cm tall, so you get the full roundness of a globe without a long drop into the room. The fitting is brass and the globe is glass, and it comes in six finishes: Satin Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Brass, Polished Chrome or Satin Chrome. It takes one E27 bulb at up to 60W per bulb, and the bulb is sold separately, so you choose your own.

A hallway is a natural home for the Yerevan. Because it is close-mounted, it keeps the space clear overhead, and a globe this size gives a hallway a real centre point that you notice as you come through the front door. The choice of finish lets you match the metal to the rest of the space: the polished finishes are bright and reflective, the satin finishes are softer, and the antique finishes have a darker, older look that sits well with traditional door furniture and switch plates. Whichever you choose, the globe is the same white glass. It is rated IP20, which means it is for dry rooms only.

Each light is made to order for you in Ireland, in brass and glass, with the globe seated in its gallery and held by small screws round the rim. It is a mains fitting, to be wired in by a qualified electrician. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered. One practical note: the light is 37cm tall in all, so check that against the headroom in your hallway before you order, particularly under a low ceiling.
