Description
This wooden hanging heart plaque brings a cheerful Highland cow to your Christmas decorating. Its shaggy ginger coat and curved horns peep out beneath a red Santa hat with a fluffy white bobble. Beside it, in neat typewriter-style lettering, run the words "Have yourself a Mooy little Christmas", a playful nod to the much-loved festive song. Sprigs of holly, red berries, green leaves and pine cones gather at the foot of the heart, all set against a white face with a rough-hewn, rustic edge. It measures 15cm across and just 1cm deep.
A natural cord is threaded through two small holes at the top, and a red and white striped ribbon bow is tied where it hangs, so the heart is ready to go straight up. Hang it on the inside of the front door, from a hook in the hallway, on the end of a kitchen dresser or from a bedroom door handle. It brings a warm, farmhouse note to the house all through December. It sits just as happily on a hook beside the mantelpiece or near the tree. It also makes a thoughtful little Christmas gift, easy to wrap and fun to slip into a stocking.
The heart is wooden, with the illustration and lettering printed across its white face, so the cow, the greenery and the festive words read clearly from across a room. Care is simple. Dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth, and keep it away from damp and steam, as you would any wooden decoration. When the decorations come down, wrap it in tissue and store it flat, ready to come out again next December. For a cosy finishing touch, tuck a sprig of real holly or a little greenery into the bow, and hang it at eye level where the words can be read and enjoyed.
