The Wirmane is an LED flush ceiling light built from two long, slim bars that run parallel to each other, held on short stems below a neat rectangular ceiling plate. The body is aluminium and steel in a soft sand colour, and each bar carries a white plastic diffuser, so the light leaves it as a clean, even line. It is 78.5cm long, 7cm wide and 14cm high. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 20W and giving 2,500 lumens at 3000K, a warm white. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

With 2,500 lumens from one fitting, it gives a living room, kitchen, dining room or home office plenty of light from the centre of the ceiling, and at 14cm high it keeps a low profile where a pendant would hang too far into the room. The sand finish is a warm neutral that sits easily against white, cream or stone walls and alongside oak floors and linen, so it suits modern rooms and softer, natural schemes alike. Fitted above the length of a dining table or a kitchen island, the twin bars lay down a line of light that follows the furniture.

There are no settings to learn. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it runs from an ordinary wall switch, and because the LEDs are integrated there are no bulbs to buy or change. As a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. The packed weight is 0.997KG. One practical point before fitting day: check that the switch for the room is a standard on and off switch rather than a dimmer, since this light is not made for dimming.
