Description

The Wirmane is a black LED flush ceiling light built from two long linear bars, set offset to one another and joined by two short crossbars beneath a rectangular canopy. It measures 78.5cm long, 7cm wide and 13.7cm high, so it keeps close to the ceiling while still covering a good stretch of the room. The body is aluminium and steel in a black finish, and a white plastic diffuser runs along the underside of each bar to soften the light. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 20W and giving 2,500 lumens at 3000K, a warm white, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. It is rated IP20, which means it is made for dry rooms indoors.

Because the light comes from long, even lines rather than a single point, the Wirmane spreads its glow along the length of a room, which suits a living room, a kitchen, a hallway or a home office. Fitted above a dining table, the offset bars follow the line of the table. The flush mounting makes sense where ceilings are low and a pendant would get in the way, and 2,500 lumens is a good level of output for a main ceiling light. The black frame stands out clearly against a pale ceiling, where the crossing lines read as a crisp graphic shape.

The light is not dimmable and has no switch of its own: it is switched at the wall, so it works from a standard light switch, though not from a dimmer. It runs on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains supply and weighs 0.895KG packed.
