Black chrome gives this pendant a dark, reflective plating that sits somewhere between gunmetal and mirror, and the body is narrow enough at 10cm across to read as a fine vertical line rather than a shape competing for attention. The flex runs to 1.5m and can be set shorter, so the hanging height is yours to decide. It takes an E27 lamp, and which LED suits best depends on the shade you pair with it.

We would hang this over a kitchen worktop, or put one on each side of a bed where the tables are tight, and the adjustable drop means the same fitting works under a low ceiling or in a tall stairwell. It is one we reach for where the shade is being chosen separately, above a dining table or along a hallway. It suits anyone who would rather pick their own shade and lamp than buy a finished look off the shelf. Dimming is possible with a compatible lamp and dimmer, though neither comes with it. Keep it indoors and away from steam; it is not made for bathroom zones or sheltered porches.

The finish is a plated one, so treat it as you would any polished surface: a dry cloth for dust, a barely damp one for marks, and nothing abrasive or solvent based, with the power off and the lamp cool before you begin. It is double insulated, and will take a lamp of up to 20W. It carries a one year warranty. The same slim body is also offered in antique brass, antique copper and aged pewter, so a row of pendants can be matched or mixed on purpose. Lamps are not included.
