Description

The Whiteberry is a modern pendant light with a ribbed blown-glass shade in two tiers: a wide, flattened upper section over a narrower, rounded cylinder, with fine ribs running down both. The glass is white, and the gold finish picks out the slim rims and the waisted collar that joins the two tiers. Inside is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to fit. It draws 10W and gives 600 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, spread through 360 degrees, so the whole shade glows evenly rather than throwing a single pool downwards. A CRI of 90 or more means colours, food and fabrics beneath it look true.

Because the light leaves the shade in every direction, the Whiteberry suits a spot where it can be seen from all sides: over a dining table, in a hallway or on a landing, or in a bedroom. The ribbed glass diffuses the light, so it reads as a soft glow rather than a bright point, which makes it comfortable to sit beneath at dinner. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. The plain white glass and gold detail sit happily in a modern scheme, and work as well with warm wood and linen as with walls painted in soft neutrals.

The frame is iron in a gold finish, the shade is blown glass, and the pendant hangs on a 2 metre textile cable. It runs on 220 to 240V mains, and it is for a qualified electrician to install.
