Description

The Watson spotlight bar sets five GU10 spotlights along one long bar, so a single fitting lights a whole stretch of room. It measures 100cm long and 22cm tall, and projects 6.5cm. The five cylindrical heads hang beneath the bar on short stems, and each one angles on its own, so you can point the light exactly where you need it. It is made from brass and steel and comes in five finishes: Matt Black & Antique Brass, Matt Black & Antique Silver, Matt Black & Polished Brass, Matt Black & Satin Brass, and Matt Black. In every finish the bar is Matt Black RAL 9005, and the choice is the colour of the heads, from brass or silver to black throughout.

We would hang it above a kitchen island, where a 100cm bar sits comfortably along the length of the worktop. Turn the heads straight down for chopping and preparing food, or angle a couple outwards to wash light across a wall or pick out shelves. It hangs from the ceiling on two fine suspension wires, so it brings the light down closer to the work. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.

Bulbs are sold separately. The bar takes five GU10 bulbs, up to 5W per bulb, so choose them alongside the fitting. It is a Class I fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, and each one is made to order for you. The metal heads bring a glint against the Matt Black bar, while the all Matt Black version keeps the whole fitting quiet and graphic. Whichever you choose, measure your island before ordering, and plan your five bulbs at the same time so the fitting is complete on the day it goes up.
