Description

This brushed silver hip flask carries the Vulcan, the delta-winged aircraft, printed on its front in grey and olive camouflage. The word VULCAN runs across the top in warm brown capitals. Beneath it the aircraft appears twice: once from above, its triangular wings spread wide, and once in profile, nose forward and tail fin raised. Red, white and blue roundels are picked out on the wings and fuselage. A matching roundel sits on top of the knurled screw cap. The flask holds 6oz and stands 11.5cm tall, 9cm wide and 2cm deep. Its slim rectangular shape and softly curved sides slip into a jacket pocket.

Its 6oz capacity is enough for a few warming measures on a winter walk, at a football match or on a cold morning by the airfield fence. At 2cm deep it sits flat in a pocket rather than bulging. The cap is hinged to the neck, so there is nothing to drop in the grass. We think it makes a thoughtful Father's Day gift, a nod to one of the most recognisable shapes ever to fly. The flask is made from iron and steel and finished in brushed silver, with the design printed onto the front.
