Description
Void Hall is a wall mirror 175cm high by 55cm wide, made as one sheet of glass in which a tall silvered rectangle sits inside a larger clear one. The mirror floats within a border you can see the wall through, so the outer edge of the piece is not where the reflection stops. Close up the border resolves as glass; from across a room it disappears into the plaster. The design is by Studio Segers.
The 55cm width suits a hallway, a landing or the wall beside a door, and the transparent border means it takes up less visual room than its size suggests. It hangs in four directions, and turning it moves the silvered panel within the clear surround, which changes where the reflection sits on the wall. It is rated bathroom proof. At 10kg and 2.5cm deep it is a one person lift that sits close to the wall, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied and nothing to assemble.
The mirror is partially transparent and mirrored glass in a single sheet, frameless. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth rather than onto the glass, and take the cloth across the whole sheet rather than stopping at the silvering, since the clear border shows marks that a mirror would hide. Give it a wall colour you have chosen: whatever is behind the border becomes part of the piece, and a strong colour changes it far more than it would change a conventional mirror. A wider size is also made in the same partly silvered glass. Seven year warranty, made in Belgium.

Frequently Asked
Why does the mirror look smaller than the glass?
Because it is. A silvered rectangle sits inside a larger clear sheet, so the border is glass you can see the wall through.
Will the wall colour show through?
Yes, through the clear border, so the wall behind becomes part of the piece.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
Yes. It is rated bathroom proof, so steam and humidity are not a problem.
Which way up does it hang?
Any of four, and turning it moves the silvered panel within the clear surround.
Is a wider one made?
Yes, in the same partly silvered glass.
