Description

A full length mirror, 189cm tall and 40cm wide, in a cast aluminium frame under an antique brass finish. The glass shows 159 by 33cm inside the frame. A knurled pivot sits at the top of the frame and another at the bottom, each on its own wall bracket, so the mirror turns between them. The casting leaves the frame faintly grained rather than smooth, and the brass sits gold over that grain.

At 189cm tall and 40cm wide this is a full length mirror on a narrow strip of wall. It needs 21cm of clearance to swing, so it wants a clear run of wall rather than a corner or the back of a door, and the pivots set the angle once it is up. It weighs 13.37kg.

The frame is cast aluminium and the mirror is backed with MDF. The casting is done in sand: sand is packed to shape and the liquid aluminium is poured into it by hand, and nearly everything the process uses can be recycled. Visala also makes a square swivel wall mirror in the same antique brass.
