Description

The Virnanne is a round outdoor wall light with a brushed stainless steel body and a white painted glass shade, held in place by three small screws around the bezel. It measures 28.5cm across and projects just 8cm from the wall, so it sits close and neat against brick, render or concrete. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 11W and giving 1,300lm of warm white light at 3000K. With an IP44 rating it is protected from splashing water, which means it can live outdoors on an exterior wall of your home.

We think it suits a front door, a porch, a back step or a side passage, anywhere you want a clear, welcoming light to find your keys or see who is calling. An output of 1,300lm is generous for a single wall light, enough to light a doorway and the path beside it, while the 3000K colour keeps it warm rather than stark. The slim profile and brushed steel ring sit comfortably with modern houses, garden rooms and garages, and a pair either side of a door looks smart. Because the LEDs are integrated, there is no bulb to buy or change.

The body is stainless steel, and stainless steel resists rust, which is exactly what you want on a wall that faces the weather. The white painted glass shade diffuses the LEDs into an even disc of light, so you see a soft glow rather than bright points. It is not dimmable and has no switch of its own: it is turned on and off at the wall switch. It is a wired mains light running at 220-240V, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician.
