Description
The Virella is a vertical wall light built around a 480mm tall travertine backplate in light beige, fitted with three opal glass globes spaced evenly along its centre line. The stone panel measures 100mm wide with softly curved top and bottom edges, and each globe is lit by a G4 capsule bulb (sold separately). The natural travertine surface shows the open pores, mineral speckling and tonal variation characteristic of the stone.
The vertical orientation suits hallways, stairwells and landings where wall height can be drawn out, and works equally well flanking a bathroom mirror or dressing area in pairs for symmetrical task light. Mounted alone, the fixture sits flat against the wall and projects approximately the depth of the globes from the surface. The G4 lamp holders accept low-voltage capsule LEDs, allowing the light output and colour temperature to be matched to the room.
Travertine is a sedimentary limestone, and each panel is cut from natural stone, so the pattern of pores, veins and beige tonal shifts varies between individual pieces. The contrast between the matte, textured stone and the smooth opal glass globes is the defining feature of the design: when the lamps are on, light washes back across the travertine and emphasises its surface texture rather than only projecting forward into the room.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Virella take?
The fitting takes three G4 capsule bulbs, sold separately. G4 LED capsules are widely available in warm white (2700K-3000K) and cool white options, allowing the light tone to be matched to the surrounding room.
Can it be mounted vertically or horizontally?
The Virella is designed to mount vertically, with the three globes stacked one above the other along the long axis of the travertine backplate. The curved top and bottom edges of the stone are part of the intended vertical silhouette.
Does each piece of travertine look the same?
No. Travertine is a natural stone, so the pore pattern, mineral speckling and exact shade of beige differ between individual backplates. Variation in the stone is a feature of the material rather than a defect.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
No IP rating is listed in the specification, so the Virella is intended for dry indoor locations such as hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and stairwells. It should not be installed in bathroom zones where an IP-rated fitting is required.
