Description
The Virella is a 280mm vertical wall light built around a light beige travertine backplate with two opal glass globes mounted along its centre line. The stone panel has gently rounded ends that soften the rectangular outline, while the natural pitting and mineral veining of the travertine give the surface its texture. Two G4 lamp holders sit behind each globe, casting warm light through the matt opal glass.
Designed for bedrooms, hallways, living rooms and reading corners, the Virella suits walls that need vertical emphasis without bulk. The 100mm width keeps the fitting close to the wall, making it workable in tighter spaces such as alongside a bed, beside a bathroom mirror or flanking a fireplace. Installed in pairs, the vertical form frames doorways, alcoves and architectural openings cleanly.
Each travertine backplate shows different mineral patterning and natural pitting depending on the section of stone it was cut from, so no two Virella wall lights are identical. The contrast between the matt opal globes and the warm-toned, porous travertine gives the fitting a sculptural quality at rest, and a soft diffused glow when lit. The combined stone and glass build sits flush against the wall on a concealed mounting plate.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Virella take?
The fitting uses two G4 capsule bulbs, one behind each opal globe. G4 LED capsules are recommended for low heat output and long life. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white capsule between 2700K and 3000K gives the softest light through the opal glass.
Can it be mounted with the globes at the top or bottom?
The Virella is designed as a vertical wall light with the two globes running top-to-bottom along the travertine backplate. It can be installed either way up depending on which end of the panel you want to align with a fixed reference such as a bed headboard or skirting line.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
The Virella does not carry a published IP rating, so it should be installed in dry indoor zones only. Use in bedrooms, hallways, living rooms and landings rather than within bathroom zones.
Does the travertine vary between pieces?
Yes. Travertine is a natural stone, and each backplate shows different pitting, mineral flecks and tonal variation depending on the block it was cut from. This is a feature of the material rather than a defect, and means each Virella is visually unique.
