Description

The Virella is a 180mm vertical wall light cut from a single panel of light beige travertine, with a central opal white glass globe set into a circular aperture through the stone. The asymmetric backplate has one straight vertical edge and one curved edge, producing a half-arch silhouette. A single G4 lamp inside the globe casts warm light through the diffuser and grazes the porous surface of the travertine.

At 180mm high by 100mm wide, the Virella sits in the small wall light category and suits hallways, bedside positions, reading corners and stairwells where a low-profile decorative source is wanted rather than a primary ceiling fitting. Mounted in pairs either side of a bed or in a sequence of three to five along a corridor, it sets up a steady visual rhythm without dominating the wall.

The travertine itself shows the natural pitting, pores and tonal banding characteristic of the stone, so each backplate carries a different pattern of marks and variations in beige tone. The opal glass globe is smooth and uniform, giving a deliberate contrast between the soft matte texture of the stone and the polished curve of the diffuser. The G4 lamp socket accepts compact capsule bulbs, keeping the fitting shallow against the wall.

What bulb does the Virella take?

The fitting uses a G4 lamp socket, which accepts compact G4 capsule bulbs in either halogen or LED. A warm-white LED capsule between 1.5W and 3W at 2700K-3000K matches the soft glow shown in the product photography. Bulbs are sold separately.

Does each travertine backplate look the same?

No. Travertine is a natural stone with characteristic pitting, pores and tonal banding. The pattern of marks and the depth of beige tone vary between individual pieces, so no two Virella wall lights are identical.

Can it be mounted in pairs or sequences?

Yes. The compact 180mm by 100mm footprint suits installation in pairs either side of a bed or headboard, or in repeating sequences along a hallway or staircase. The asymmetric profile pairs naturally as mirrored left and right when ordered in multiples.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

The Virella does not carry a published IP rating, so it is intended for dry indoor locations only. For bathrooms an IP44-rated wall light is required in zones 2 and outside.
