A lampshade, 50cm wide, in red. Getting a shade wrong is almost always a fit problem rather than a taste problem. Check the ring your fitting takes before the diameter, then hold the bottom width against the space rather than the height. At 50cm wide it is a little narrower than a standard interior door. A shade is the cheapest way to change a light. Natural cotton has a slight irregularity in the weave that catches light unevenly, and that is what stops a plain fabric looking flat.
