Description

The Velorin is a 750mm tall alabaster wall light built from a vertical panel of natural Spanish alabaster set behind a curved matt black metal shield, with a slim brass accent line running the full height between the two materials. An integrated 18W 3000K LED sits behind the shield and washes light through the alabaster panel, so the stone itself becomes the visible light source.

Sized for hallways, stairwells, bedrooms and bathroom vanity walls (subject to local zoning rules and IP requirements), the Velorin works as both ambient and accent lighting. The 180mm width and 150mm projection keep the fitting close to the wall, while the 750mm height gives a strong vertical line that suits taller walls, narrow piers between doors, and either side of a bed, mirror or fireplace where a pair would balance the composition.

Each alabaster panel shows different mineral veining and tonal clouding because the stone is cut from natural blocks rather than cast or moulded. When the LED is off the alabaster reads as a creamy white with faint grey veining; when lit, the internal structure of the stone becomes visible as soft warm patterning. The black shield directs light forward and prevents glare from the side, while the brass edge catches reflected light and warms the overall tone of the fitting.

Is the Velorin dimmable?

The integrated LED runs at 18W on 230V mains. Dimming compatibility depends on the specific dimmer module used, so please contact us with your dimmer model before purchase if dimming is required.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Velorin is supplied as a standard interior wall light. The Specification tab does not list an IP rating, so it should not be installed in bathroom Zones 0, 1 or 2 where water contact is possible. It can be used on a dry vanity wall outside the splash zones, subject to your installer's assessment.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. The panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, clouding and translucency differ between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural material and means no two Velorin lights look identical when lit.

How is it mounted?

The fitting is hard-wired to a wall outlet and fixings are concealed within the body. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, with the back plate fixed to a solid wall or to a noggin behind plasterboard to support the weight.
